Hilarity Bites Comedy Club feat. Steve Harris, Adam Staunton, and host Rob Mulholland
Steve first leapt on stage back in August 1998 and within 3 months had won himself the coveted North-West comedian of the year award after just 5 gigs. A finalist of the BBC New Comedy Awards and Channel 4’s “So You Think You’re Funny” in the same year, Steve went on to headline all of the top comedy clubs in the UK, as well as venues as far flung as Hong Kong and Australia.
With his ever-expanding reputation the demand for Steve has come from all different types of media outlets including radio and TV, and with support slots with the likes of Johnny Vegas, Peter Kay and Lee Evans, Steve comes highly recommended from the heavyweights of comedy.
Whatever age or walk of life you’re from Steve has something for you, guaranteed to have you breathless with laughter, a master of the obvious and a Ninja of the not so obvious, you’ll be hit so hard by a punch line you won’t know where it’s come from.
“Quite simply, fantastically funny” - BBC
“He’s caustic and witty, a good all-rounder” - The Guardian
“Steve Harris is a hip-hopping, gag-spinning bundle of joy, go see him now before he gets too big” - City Life
Liverpool’s Adam Staunton may appear diminutive and youthful at first glance but he easily fills a stage and his writing demonstrates the maturity of a far older hand. His confident and demanding stage presence has seen Adam performing alongside John Bishop, Sarah Millican, Jack Whitehall, Phil Nichol and Rob Rouse.
Flexible enough to gig almost anywhere, Adam has performed in pubs, clubs, bars and music festivals, coming highly recommended by promoters and fellow acts up and down the country.
“What he lacks in height he certainly makes up for in talent, getting the biggest laughs of the night” - Three Weeks
One of the fastest rising new comedians on the circuit, Rob Mulholland fell into comedy after finding a flyer looking for acts to appear at Harrogate Comedy Festival on the ground outside his front door. In the two years since, he has clocked up a huge amount of gigs all over the country ranging from tiny pubs to massive theatres (even performing to 2,000 bikers at an outdoor festival!), and can now be seen most weekends in some of the biggest comedy clubs in the country.
Just as at home as an act or compere, Rob mixes cheeky audience banter with his intricately woven, gag-packed stories; adding a touch of the absurd to his askance glance at everyday life. Rob is 17 feet tall, made of steel and can jump over a mini cooper from a standing start.
Rob is the current Hilarity Bites New Act of the Year, and after finishing runner-up in this year’s Great Yorkshire Fringe New Act of the Year competition has awarded himself the title of "Yorkshire’s Funniest Non-Musical Comedian". He was one half of the anarchic, late-night, yurt-based show #BlurredMinds at the 2015 Edinburgh festival and premiered his first solo show ‘Champion of Comedy’ at the Leicester Comedy Festival in 2016.
“Very, very tall and equally as talented” - Time Out
“Great delivery and a confident swagger... A riot” - Lancashire Evening Telegraph
“Perfect delivery... had the audience bursting into spontaneous applause” - York Press
