Hilarity Bites Comedy Club feat. Craig Murray, Duncan Oakley, and host Mike Wilkinson
Familiar to millions as the face of PlusNet Broadband, and hailing from Dewsbury, West Yorkshire (a town otherwise famous for international terrorists, fake kidnaps and 'Britain's Best Market'), charming northerner Craig is currently one of the hottest talents on the comedy circuit.
Craig cut his comedy teeth as resident compere at award-winning London club The Funny Side... of Covent Garden sharing a stage with some of the very best comedy acts in the business including Harry Hill, Stewart Lee and even Hollywood legend Robin Williams. He rapidly became a master of the compere's art; able to turn any crowd from a lacklustre mob into a clapping, cheering, delirious audience ready to laugh all night.
An instant crowd pleaser with a charismatic, mock-confrontational style, Craig is now a highly sought-after act and compere, performing all over the UK.
“...a great line in Northern humour” - Spoonfed
“Craig Murray knows his comedy roots... his material was well presented [and] recognisably funny” - Chortle
“Bloody funny” - Jo Brand
As heard on BBC Radio 4's "Shappi Talk", Duncan Oakley is an artschool dropout and songwriter who has performed live since he was fifteen and then joined the comedy circuit in 1999. Duncan performs an infectious mix of musical comedy and stand up with one of his trusty guitars - Maurice (Fender Strat), No.7 (acoustic) or his Les Paul (the Lezza) by his side.
With an eye and ear for the silly, rude, playful and downright irritating occurrences of life Duncan musters up songs that not only make you laugh, they bury into the recesses of your mind and find you a humming tune with a smile on your face 3 days later, confused and wondering where it’s come from.
A talented all-round musician Duncan can also perform with harmonica, drums & piano as a one man musical whirlwind, and is a regular at the biggest comedy clubs around the UK and also all of the biggest music festivals.
“Oakley's routine deftly mixes the tunes with the stand-up” - City Life
“There's laughter and there’s laughter and if you want to experience real mccoy, genuine, honestly felt, uncontrollable cachinnation the best place is at a Duncan Oakley gig” - Plymouth Herald
“...the encore had me in tears of laughter” - BBC
“...an excellent entertainer and musical/comedy genius well worth seeing!” - The National Student
Replacing Lou Conran:
Full to the brim with down to earth Northern charm, Mike takes a bemused glance at the world and then throws it a smile. The laughs come thick and fast with Wilkinson's dry humour and razor sharp wit.
Mike's been a professional comic for over 10 years and in that time he has supported the likes of Peter Kay, Johnny Vegas, Jason Manford and Ross Noble, as well as headlining clubs all over the country.
Mike has a laid back style onstage, but can crush a heckler in seconds. He regularly comperes and appears at The Frog and Bucket, Jongleurs and is a member of the Comedy Store's topical improv. group - MEN at Work.
“Excellent” - City Life
“relaxed and confident stage presence” - The Last Laugh
