David Trent, Lloyd Griffith & host Matt Reed

Show details:

David Trent

David Trent

David Trent is a hugely original comedian who uses multi-media extensively in his performances. He was nominated for the prestigious Edinburgh Comedy Award in 2012 for his debut solo show Spontaneous Comedian.

David Trent had never been on the television in any capacity as a comedian until this terrible omission was finally rectified in 2013 when he appeared on Channel 4's "THE 50 FUNNIEST MOMENTS OF 2013" - a show that is almost certainly going to change the face of comedy in the UK if not the entire world.

David offers up high energy commentary on celebrity culture and topical news stories using projection and an extremely effective frenetic style of video editing. This act truly needs to be seen to be believed.

“A first rate comic mind” - The Guardian

“A creator of bold, category-defying comedy” - The Stage

“His use of video, animation and repetition is brilliant and unique... genuine originality” - Chortle

“One of the most talked-about people in comedy right now” - The Guardian

Lloyd Griffith

Lloyd Griffith

Since starting comedy in 2009, Lloyd has quickly established himself as one of the most natural, brightest and original comedians on the circuit. In 2011 he was selected to perform as part of the prestigious Edinburgh package show, Big Value Comedy Showcase. A year later in 2012 he performed as part of the sell out package show AAA Stand-up Late in the Pleasance Courtyard and in 2013 supported Rob Beckett on his sell-out UK tour, before performing his debut Edinburgh Fringe show in 2014.

Grimsby-born Lloyd now regularly performs at some of the largest clubs in the UK, including Just the Tonic, Off The Kerb, Highlight, BBC Comedy Presents, Amused Moose and many others, and is resident MC at a number of comedy clubs in London and the south of England.

Lloyd is also a huge football fan and has written, produced and starred in a number of viral football videos. The most recent one for FIFA 16 (EA Sports) has been viewed over 1.7 million times and was broadcast on Sky Sports five times over a period of a week. He then was a guest on Soccer AM in January 2016, talking about his love of football and how he is mates with Lionel Messi.

“It’s clear from outset the Lloyd Griffith has star quality. His stories are told with a certain brand of self-deprecating confidence that mean you can’t help but laugh out loud along with him. Intensely likeable, Griffith has a twinkle in his eye and the best baritone I’ve ever heard” - Three Weeks

“Inherently funny... very neat lines in his comic repertoire” - Chortle

“Griffith in particular was absolutely outstanding” - Broadway Baby

Matt Reed

Matt Reed

Born and bred in Sunderland, Matt's affable style has won him fans across the UK. He effortlessly plays with the crowd with a natural rapport that is found in few comics. Matt, always ready, never disappointing will always make a good gig - great.

In 2015 Matt took his debut show to the Edinburgh Fringe, retelling the four year ordeal of how he was stalked and cat-fished by an online admirer. The show won rave reviews from critics and audience alike, with Matt playing to sell-out audiences.

With so many gigs of every size under his belt, from audiences of 3000 to 30, there is pretty much no comedy situation Matt can't handle. As pleasant as he is wonderfully brutal, Matt is a welcome addition to any comedy night entertaining the crowd while skillfully destroying any heckler that crosses his path.

“Absolutely hilarious... had the crowd rolling around” - BBC

“Brilliant... always original one of the newest stars of comedy” - The Leeds Guide

“Brilliantly handled a very difficult room, this fashionably unkempt lad will go far” - Swansea Telegraph

This show will also feature a newer act in the middle.
