Hilarity Bites Comedy Club feat. Pete Otway, Sammy Dobson, and host Aaron Twitchen
Since starting to perform in 2010, Pete Otway has quickly gained momentum, establishing himself as an extremely strong new act. As comfortable and confident as an MC as he is an act, he is booked regularly to do both, and was a recent finalist in the 2012 BBC New Comedy Awards.
With an affable and conversational style, mixed with an energetic stage manner and original writing, Pete is quickly making a name for himself on the UK circuit, and is certainly one to watch.
“Devastatingly funny” - Chortle
“Amiable, cheeky classic stand-up” - Liverpool Echo
“An amazing comedy talent, and we are making sure we are making sure we follow his every move in his ever rising career” - Crispy Comedy Club
As seen in BBC's 'Boy Meets Girl’.
As a 31 year old woman, Sammy shouldn't have the extensive Lego minifigure collection she has, or cry with delight at sea lions. But she does. She also hangs upside down naked because the internet told her to.
Her material is relatable and terrifying in equal measure. Because, let’s be honest, we’ve all had a deep sniff of our dirty jeans and worn them again anyway, haven’t we?
“Shockingly funny... observational comedy I don’t think Michael McIntyre could possibly approach” - NARC Magazine
“Bordering on the psychotic but very endearing” - North East Theatre Guide
Aaron Twitchen is a stand up, actor, aerialist, and living stereotype.
As well as featuring on BBC Radio 4, he was listed in Metro's top 5 RomComs and has provided tour support for Luisa Omielan. He has also been releasing his sketch series, DiscoBlonde, in weekly instalments, and in its first six weeks it has enjoyed upwards of eighteen thousand views.
Away from comedy, Aaron has supported bands at music festivals, and is an accomplished stage actor and improviser. Unusually, he is also a trained circus act, concentrating particularly on aerial skills and trapeze work, which has allowed him to tour circus theatres throughout the country and teach young people.
“Twitchen's a terrific host, kind and self-deprecating with plenty of catty put-downs” - The Skinny
“Twitchen is an assured stand-up and navigates both his material and his venue with style... He is a flexible improviser, in tune with the spirit of live comedy” - Broadway Baby
“Hilarious, warm, energetic and capable of busting some serious moves. Twitchen is a quadruple threat” - The Skinny
