Hilarity Bites Comedy Club feat. George Zach, Richard Massara, and host Aaron Twitchen
George moved from Greece to study Biochemistry in Newcastle Upon Tyne and, in doing so, avoided joining the Greek army for his national service. He discovered stand-up soon after and has gone to sell out his show Greek Tragedy at the Melbourne Comedy Festival, and support Luisa Omielan on her Am I Right Ladies tour. Recent BBC One appearances include the One Show and numerous appearances on This Week, discussing the Greek financial crisis.
Fortunately for George it turned out that he has quite the grasp of the English language, and also the fine art of comedy, including his witty observations on dating Geordie lasses and helpful translations of everyday Geordie phrases.
“George Zach went down well with the crowd and got some of the bigger laughs of the night. Really likeable act should go far” - Giggle Beats
“Pulls it off well with a style that is thoughtful and unexpected” - Broadway Baby
“Accessible, likeable, his jokes are solid and his timing impeccable” - The List
Since becoming a stand up in 2010 Richard has won Real Radio XS New Comedian 2012 and The Frog & Bucket's Preston Comedian of the Year 2012 and is becoming a regular on the UK circuit with his brand of filthy self depreciation.
As well as performing for many of the best independent comedy clubs in the country, Richard is a regular at one off events, charity gigs, and festivals. Also an accomplished actor, you may well have seen Richard on-screen in several films, or TV programmes such as Emmerdale and Hollyoaks.
“A very funny guy, with a wicked line in smut... produced a lot of laughter and earned lots of applause” - BSH Magazine
“Presence to spare and some wicked material” - One4Review
Aaron Twitchen is a stand up, actor, aerialist, and living stereotype.
As well as featuring on BBC Radio 4, he was listed in Metro's top 5 RomComs and has provided tour support for Luisa Omielan. He has also been releasing his sketch series, DiscoBlonde, in weekly instalments, and in its first six weeks it has enjoyed upwards of eighteen thousand views.
Away from comedy, Aaron has supported bands at music festivals, and is an accomplished stage actor and improviser. Unusually, he is also a trained circus act, concentrating particularly on aerial skills and trapeze work, which has allowed him to tour circus theatres throughout the country and teach young people.
“Twitchen's a terrific host, kind and self-deprecating with plenty of catty put-downs” - The Skinny
“Twitchen is an assured stand-up and navigates both his material and his venue with style... He is a flexible improviser, in tune with the spirit of live comedy” - Broadway Baby
“Hilarious, warm, energetic and capable of busting some serious moves. Twitchen is a quadruple threat” - The Skinny
