Hilarity Bitesize New Act & New Material Night, with Danny McLoughlin, host Andy Fury & support

Show details:

Danny McLoughlin

Danny McLoughlin

Danny McLoughlin has been performing stand-up since 2007. A finalist in the Chortle Student Comedian of the Year 2008, Danny went on to perform as part of the prestigious Big Value Comedy Show during Edinburgh Fringe Festival in 2009 and supported Al Pitcher on his UK Tour. Following this, in 2010 Danny supported both Micky Flanagan and Sean Lock on tour and has since played many major clubs up and down the country including; The Glee Club, The Comedy Store, The Last Laugh, The Laugh Inn and Highlight. He has also performed at many of the country’s music festivals including Latitude and Leeds.

2012 was also particularly busy for Danny, in the autumn he starred on channel Dave’s ‘One Night Stand’ alongside fellow comedians; Al Murray, Andy Zaltzman and Richard Herring. Danny also took his debut hour long show 'The Truth, The Half Truth and Nothing Like The Truth' to the Edinburgh Fringe Festival in August, firmly establishing himself as one to watch.

With an amiable, confident stage presence and a well written set Danny delivers material with more than just an immediate pay-off line, preferring to take the joke one or two steps further. Confident enough to take a risk on stage he does so not to the detriment of the audience, keeping them laughing along or hanging on every word.

“McLoughlin's main weapon is his audacity: he’s so bold that he can recite an advertising jingle or tuck into a snack, and still get plenty of laughs” - Chortle

“His innate comic timing, insightful digressions and ability to think on his feet puts him alongside the most talented and genuinely funny comedians” - Three Weeks

Andy Fury

Andy Fury

Despite starting comedy out of “sheer boredom” just a few years ago, Andy Fury has impressed a lot of people in a short space of time with a wonderful mix of self-deprecating dark jokes and off the wall surrealism.

With a laidback stage presence that sometimes borders horizontal, he’s as hard-working as he is funny and winning the Hilarity Bites New Act Of The Year 2010 title has put Andy on the path to working at many of the best clubs in the country, wowing audiences the length and breadth of the UK.

“An absolute genius of a comedian” - BBC

“Brilliant... The next Pub Landlord of comedy” - Hexham Courant

“A very funny man with a big future ahead of him” - Corby Radio

This show will also feature support from several new acts, and established acts performing new material.
