Hilarity Bites Comedy Club feat. Allyson June Smith, Kate McCabe, and host Andy Fury
Allyson June Smith
Since 2000, Allyson June Smith has been tickling Canada's comedy scene from the moment she put down the chalk brush and picked up a mic. Playing to packed rooms has become like another day in the classroom for this former school teacher.
Her credits include her own hour long Comedy Now special, appearances on CBC Radio's hit show The Debaters, and the Winnipeg, Halifax and Just For Laughs Festivals, to name just a few. A multiple Canadian Comedy Award nominee for Best Female Stand-Up, she performs for audiences ranging from corporations to the most rural of gatherings. Whether she was the host, support, or headliner, she's delighted them all.
After working her way across Canada, Allyson now has taken her craft to the UK. Using her sassy blend of in-your-face stand-up and hilariously insightful commentary, she now works for major UK promoters and comedy clubs.
It is her genuine and unique sense of humor, combined with excellent performance timing, that has made audiences laugh. This teacher-come-comic is ready to show international audiences why she is a sought-after fan favourite.

Replacing Jack Carroll, who will appear on a later date:
American comic Kate McCabe moved to Manchester from the US 8 years ago with her Scottish partner - putting the wheels in motion shortly after George W Bush was elected for a second term as President!
Growing up in Erie, Pennsylvania, Kate studied theatre arts at New York University, and following her passion for stand-up comedy, Kate continued to make us laugh, perforning throughout New York, Los Angeles, Philadelphia, New Jersey and the UK.
When not performing stand-up, she also writes and performs with Manchester-based sketch group The Tourists, hosts her own alternative comedy night, Sidekick Comedy, in Manchester's Gay Village, and also performs improv with ComedySportz - the Manchester-based comedy troupe who battle it out for the biggest laughs.
“Delivers strong material with aplomb” - Three Weeks
“McCabe stormed the venue... a thorough delight to watch” - Arts in Leicester
“McCabe’s material is consistently good, often making the room spin with laughter” - The Student Journal
Despite starting comedy out of “sheer boredom” just a few years ago, Andy Fury has impressed a lot of people in a short space of time with a wonderful mix of self-deprecating dark jokes and off the wall surrealism.
With a laidback stage presence that sometimes borders horizontal, he’s as hard-working as he is funny and winning the Hilarity Bites New Act Of The Year 2010 title has put Andy on the path to working at many of the best clubs in the country, wowing audiences the length and breadth of the UK.
“An absolute genius of a comedian” - BBC
“Brilliant... The next Pub Landlord of comedy” - Hexham Courant
“A very funny man with a big future ahead of him” - Corby Radio
