Hilarity Bites Comedy Club feat. Larry Dean, Dominic Woodward, and host Rob Mulholland

Show details:

Larry Dean

Larry Dean

Edinburgh Comedy Award Nominee 2018

Larry Dean was crowned Scottish Comedian Of The Year when he was 23, and since then his star has continued to rise. His 2015 debut Edinburgh Fringe show Out Now! received both widespread critical acclaim and a nomination for the Foster’s Comedy Award for Best Newcomer. After its success in Edinburgh, January 2016 saw Larry take the show to London for a run of packed-out performances at the Soho Theatre. He then took the show to the Melbourne International Comedy Festival where he was one of the standout performers on the Allstars Supershow Opening Night Gala.

In 2016 Larry returned to Edinburgh with his eagerly awaited new show Farcissist, for which he won the Amused Moose Comedy Award for Best Show. He subsequently took the show on a UK-wide tour and a run at the 2017 Melbourne Comedy Festival. Fandan, Larry’s most recent show, enjoyed a sold-out run at the 2017 Edinburgh Fringe and was one of the British Comedy Guide’s Top 10 Best Reviewed Shows this year. Larry also performed the show at Christchurch Buskers Festival and Perth Fringeworld in February 2018 ahead of his UK tour in March, and then thereafter at the Melbourne International Comedy Festival.

2017 saw Larry Dean make his debut appearance on BBC1’s Live at the Apollo and new Comedy Central UK show Roast Battle. Larry previously appeared twice on BBC Presents: Best of the Edinburgh Festival and Live From the Comedy Store for Comedy Central UK and has also performed on ITV2’s Elevenish and BBC Radio 4’s Don’t Make Me Laugh.

“Dean has the easy charm of an arena comic, and the high joke rate too” - The Guardian

“A winning combination of being daft and being a smart aleck” - Chortle

Dominic Woodward

Dominic Woodward

Dominic started comedy young and wide eyed back in 2001, and with nearly two decades experience on the UK circuit he's a safe pair of hands. He's cheeky, charming, full of energy and hilarious.

Now married with a mortgage, Dominic weaves side-splitting stories about his life and tells belly aching jokes that hit the mark with all audiences. There’s a naughty twinkle in his eyes but his act is warm, personal and inoffensive.

Dominic is always in demand as an act and compere. He regularly performs in comedy clubs all over the UK and overseas.

“Effortless delivery” - The Times

“Engaging material” - Manchester Evening News

Rob Mulholland

Rob Mulholland

One of the fastest rising new comedians on the circuit, Rob Mulholland fell into comedy after finding a flyer looking for acts to appear at Harrogate Comedy Festival on the ground outside his front door. In the two years since, he has clocked up a huge amount of gigs all over the country ranging from tiny pubs to massive theatres (even performing to 2,000 bikers at an outdoor festival!), and can now be seen most weekends in some of the biggest comedy clubs in the country.

Just as at home as an act or compere, Rob mixes cheeky audience banter with his intricately woven, gag-packed stories; adding a touch of the absurd to his askance glance at everyday life. Rob is 17 feet tall, made of steel and can jump over a mini cooper from a standing start.

Rob is the current Hilarity Bites New Act of the Year, and after finishing runner-up in this year’s Great Yorkshire Fringe New Act of the Year competition has awarded himself the title of "Yorkshire’s Funniest Non-Musical Comedian". He was one half of the anarchic, late-night, yurt-based show #BlurredMinds at the 2015 Edinburgh festival and premiered his first solo show ‘Champion of Comedy’ at the Leicester Comedy Festival in 2016.

“Very, very tall and equally as talented” - Time Out

“Great delivery and a confident swagger... A riot” - Lancashire Evening Telegraph

“Perfect delivery... had the audience bursting into spontaneous applause” - York Press

This show will also feature a newer act in the middle.
