DESCRIPTION:Hilarity Bites Comedy Club feat. Alex Boardman\, David Eagle\, and host Daisy Earl\nShow details:\n \nAlex Boardman\nA lifelong comedy fan\, Alex Boardman stormed onto the scene and quickly became one of the most popular choices on the circuit during the late 90’s. A full time comic since 1998\, his skills as a writer have also been in constant demand for Britain’s most cutting edge prime time TV and Radio comedy shows. If you’ve found yourself falling off your chair in a fit of giggles watching TV’s latest successful comedy offering\, the chances are\, Alex is responsible. \nAlex is now one of the most sought after acts in the country due to his ability to interact with any audience and to seemingly conjure something out of nothing. His free flowing style and natural charm breeze through in performances. His unique brand of “flattery and abuse” is done with a lack of malice and a big sense of fun. \nAlex was one of a small band of writers who worked on the second series of John Bishop’s Britain on BBC 1 and he made a significant contribution to it being the highest rated stand up show of 2011 bringing in six million viewers a week. He has also written for performers as diverse as James Corden\, Lily Savage and Liza Tarbuck\, whilst he had a three year special hosting the Galaxy FM breakfast show in the late 2000s. \n“His tall tales can lead anywhere on any given night” - The Times \n“A rare mixture of wit and charm” - The Guardian \n“Probably the quickest I’ve ever seen\, certainly the funniest” - The Big Issue \n  \n \nDavid Eagle\nIn 2018 David began performing stand up comedy. He was awarded the New Act Of The Year prize at 2018’s Nottingham Comedy Festival. In 2019 he won Bath Comedy Festival’s New Comedian Of The Year and the Leicester Square Theatre New Comedian Of The Year. \nIn 2022 David performed stand up on BBC Radio 4’s topical comedy programme The Now Show. He frequently supports Boothby Graffoe on tour\, and he also starred in Tony Law and Phil Nichol’s improvised 2019 Edinburgh Fringe show. \nDavid is one third of three-time BBC Radio 2 folk Award winning band The Young’uns. You may have heard them performing on BBC Radio 2 and 3\, or maybe seen them on BBC’s Springwatch. They’ve also done a couple of documentaries for BBC Radio 4. Or perhaps – and granted\, this is unlikely\, but maybe – you heard them in the Aardman Animations film Itch of the Golden Nit\, in which they played the role of Vic Reeves’ pirate backing band. They perform at venues and festivals in the UK and all over the world\, including Cambridge Folk Festival and Glastonbury\, where they played on stage with Billy Bragg. \n“a comic tour de force” - The Guardian \n“David Eagle is a genuine stand up rookie phenomenon! Looking forward to hearing more” - Reginald D. Hunter \n“Brilliant\, nuts\, heartily recommend” - Rufus Hound \n  \n \nDaisy Earl\nChortle Best Newcomer 2016 – WinnerScottish Comedian of the Year 2015 – WinnerScottish Variety Award – Best New Scottish Comedian 2015 – Winner\nDaisy Earl has quickly become a comedy circuit favourite\, after bursting onto the scene by becoming Scottish Comedian of the Year\, Chortle Best Newcomer winner\, and providing tour support for Jason Manford\, John Bishop\, and Tom Stade. \nDaisy has appeared on BBC Comedy Underground\, BBC Radio 4 Best of the Fest\, BBC Scotland’s Breaking The News and at top comedy clubs and festivals both in the UK and internationally\, including a sell-out show at the Adelaide Fringe in 2016. \n“Crisp storytelling talent and self-deprecating humour\, a rare cunning\, defiant attitude. DESCRIPTION:Hilarity Bites Comedy Club feat. Peter Brush\, Pete Selwood\, and host Elaine Robertson\nShow details:\n \nPeter Brush\nA highly distinctive performer and deft writer of finely crafted jokes\, Peter Brush unassumingly takes the stage with his slight bespectacled frame and scruffy hair\, before consummately conquering it with an arsenal of razor sharp quirky one-liners and peerlessly original routines\, all delivered in an amusingly awkward fashion. \nPeter performs at all the major clubs across the UK\, as well as having done many of it’s biggest festivals\, he has also played shows in Switzerland\, Norway and Hungary. Formerly a BBC New Comedy Award finalist\, he has written for several BBC Radio 4 shows and was the support act for Alexei Sayle’s most recent tour. Other acts he has supported on tour include Jonathan Pie\, Jason Manford\, Fern Brady\, Arthur Smith and Paul Sinha. \n“compellingly hilarious... first-class gag writing... an original and achingly funny voice” - ★★★★½ - Chortle \n“I love Peter Brush\, what a comic” - Jason Manford \n“unique observations and connections that stand-ups crave” - The Guardian \n“He’s a great comic” - BBC Radio 4 Saturday Review \n  \n \nPete Selwood\nA hotly tipped up and coming comedian on the circuit\, Pete Selwood has quickly risen through the comedy ranks with swagger. After winning the Lawrence Batley New Yorkshire Comedian of the Year (quite a mouthful)\, he has gone from strength to strength\, winning comedy competitions and winning over audiences. \nThe Barnsley born Yorkshireman is an adept storyteller\, focussing on tales of Northern life as a perpetually single man in his 20s. Being born with only one hand also gives him a unique view and experience of the world around him\, poking fun at having a fairly minor disability in modern Britain. \nIn keeping with his material about disability\, Selwood is also half of a double-act with Britain's Got Talent star Jack Carroll\, performing sketches and creating videos about the portrayal of disability within our society. \n“Wowed the crowd” - Liverpool Echo \n“man with swagger\, isn’t misplaced either” - Notts Comedy Review \n“grace and good humour\, immensely likeable” - North West End \n  \n \nElaine Robertson\nWith a surreal eye for observational comedy and keen knack for audience interaction\, Elaine has been described as ‘Laugh out loud’\, ‘Natural\, effortless and off-the-cuff (The Cherwell) and a ‘Brilliant wit and comedic talent’ (Ed Fringe Review). \nIn 2022 Elaine was a Regional Finalist for BBC New Comedian of the Year. \n“I’ve been doing comedy for over 20 years and it’s very rare that I see someone who was born to do it. Elaine is one such person. effortlessly hilarious with original material I wish I’d thought of myself. If she doesn’t do well it’s to the detriment of comedy” - Matt Reed \n“A huge personality\, Elaine has a quality that is very rare in new comedians\, that being the ability to ad-lib and go with wherever the gig takes her. She's good now\, very good in fact but she could well develop into a truly special comic” - Felt Nowt Comedy \n“Laugh out loud\, natural\, effortless and off-the-cuff” - The Cherwell \n  \nNote: Line-ups are subject to change in extreme\, and unavoidable\, circumstances.\nShow may contain strong language and adult themes.\n  \n\nTimings\nDoors open: 7:30pm\nShow starts: 8pm \n\nBuy tickets:\nTickets for this show are £10 per person and are only available to buy from TicketSource.
