SUMMARY:Horbury\, November 22nd 2019
DESCRIPTION:Hilarity Bites Comedy Club feat. Noel James\, Bethany Black\, Sam Gore\, and host Tom Houghton\n*** Tickets for this show are now sold-out ***\nShow details:\n \nNoel James\nBritain's Got Talent 2018 semi-finalist\nNoel James has been making people laugh for over 25 years and much of stand-up's royalty has cited him as being a big influence: from Tim Vine and Milton Jones\, to Frank Skinner and Dylan Moran. \nNoel is surreal\, bizarre\, absurd\, intelligent\, and yet\, somehow strangely attractive. He's an accessible act who generally goes down well anywhere; his best lines would grace any comedian's repertoire\, whilst the worst would shame a cracker factory. Highly original and just plain ridiculous. \n“Liberates the lunatic side to our personalities - brilliantly!” - Time Out \n“Stands out like a droll giant in a comedy land of trite dwarfs” - The Independent \n“Huge fan!” - The Sunday Times \n  \n \nBethany Black\nBethany Black has been a professional stand-up comedian since 2004. Her debut show 'Beth Becomes Her' detailed the story of her being transgender\, chronicling everything from her coming out through her transition and eventually falling in love. It was nominated for Best Debut at the Leicester Comedy Festival in 2008\, eventually losing out to Sarah Millican. \nOver the course of her career Beth has performed alongside some of the biggest names in comedy\, including Alan Carr\, Sarah Millican\, Tim Minchin and Rhys Darby. \nIn late 2017 / early 2018 Beth filmed the role of Pocahantas for No Offence. Prior to which\, in 2015 she was cast as Helen in Russell T. Davies multi channel shows Cucumber\, Banana\, and Tofu\, where she was the first trans actress to play a leading role. In late 2015\, Beth played 474 in Doctor Who. \n“Her journey to Channel Four\, ‘Doctor Who’ and steadily rising star status makes for hilarious if sometimes incredulous listening” - ✭✭✭✭✭ - Three Weeks \n“Honest\, to the point\, and very\, very funny” - ✭✭✭✭ - Arts Award Voice \n“The anecdotes are pitched perfectly... very funny” - Chortle \n  \n \nSam Gore\nA confident and original young act with a brilliant command of language\, Sam’s been wowing crowds and rapidly climbing the comedy ladder. Having cemented his position as one of the best new performers on the circuit with no less than five New Act of the Year titles (including the Hilarity Bites title in 2008)\, he’s gone on to impress everywhere from weekend clubs to music festivals\, biker rallies and theatres. \nSam made his solo debut at the Edinburgh Fringe in 2015\, winning plaudits from audiences for his show "The Cryptid Crossword"\, whilst also appearing in the highly regarded AAA Comedy showcase at The Pleasance. In 2010 Sam appeared in the double-header show A Calculated Risk as part of the Free Festival. In 2011 he returned to the Fringe as part of the Amused Moose Laugh-Off showcase\, having won his way through to the final of that competition as well. Sam is also a hugely accomplished writer\, plying his trade on shows such as Russell Howard's Good News and Chris Addison's Show & Tell. \n“The jokes are as cruel as they are funny\, i.e. very... a class act indeed” - Chortle \n“Superbly crafted gags that showcase a vivid use of imagery and language... great wordplay\, refreshing honesty and a wonderfully dark view of life” - Giggle Beats \n  \n \nTom Houghton\nTom Houghton was previously 1/5th of comedy troupe "The Noise Next Door" and is now taking the comedy circuit by storm with his quick wit\, and charming persona. \nRegularly performing up and down the country and abroad - as well as touring the country in his own sell-out solo showss - you may even have caught him on Netflix's "The Circle"\, Channel Four's "First Dates Hotel"\, or at his sell-out debut Edinburgh Fringe show\, which went on tour in early 2018. Tom is also hugely popular on social media\, with millions of views across all platforms. \nStrap in and be prepared to have your funny bones tickled and your levels of decency questioned by one of the hottest acts around. \n“this unexpected tour de force warrants a 21-gun salute” - ★★★★ – The Daily Telegraph \n“Please take my advice. Get a ticket today. Tomorrow may well be too late. A Star is Born” - ★★★★★ – One 4 Review \n“The long awaited male answer to Bridget Jones made flesh” - ★★★★ – The Daily Telegraph \n  \nNote: Line-ups are subject to change in extreme\, and unavoidable\, circumstances.\nShow may contain strong language and adult themes.\n\nBuy tickets:

DESCRIPTION:Hilarity Bites Comedy Club feat. Tom Binns: The Psychic Comedium\, Ivan Brackenbury\, and host Pete Otway\nShow details:\n \nTom Binns: The Psychic Comedium\nMulti award-winning comedian Tom Binns has performed his Psychic Character Ian D Montfort to 5-star reviews around the world. \nHe’s entertained and amazed sceptics and believers alike on his own BBC Radio 2 series ‘Ian D Montfort is: Unbelievable’\, his critically acclaimed BBC One series 'Hospital People'\, and in the smash hit British film 'Eaten By Lions'. \nDuring this time Tom appears to have started to believe he has genuine psychic ability and now performs as The Psychic Comedium. \n"I've discovered I have psychic abilities that are at least as strong as anyone who has ever claimed to be a psychic. If not stronger” \nIn his performances Tom clearly makes jaw-dropping revelations about his audience but is he gifted? Is he deluded? Or is he just full of sh*t? \nWhatever you decide his gift for comedy is undeniable and his psychic powers are unbelievable! \n“Binns has either gone native or so deeply ironic that he’s lost touch with reality. I can only assume he’d sell more tickets as a 'real' psychic. In this post-truth\, end of days\, era we are living in\, why not? Best of luck to him” - Horizon \n“...remains hilarious even as the tricks become remarkable. This is two shows for one: Pin Sharp character comedy and metaphysical magic to boot” - The Guardian \n“Spookily skilful\, wonderfully observed and hysterically funny” - Time Out \n  \n \nIvan Brackenbury\nTop Ten Fosters Comedy God AwardsBest Established Comedian Nomination Adelaide Fringe 2010Chortle Top 50 Most Memorable Gigs of the Decade 2000-2010Edinburgh Comedy Award Nominee 2007\nCat's Does Countdown favourite Ivan Brackenbury's fantastic 'Hospital Radio Roadshow'\, complete with inappropriate records and bungled cues\, is a regular fixture on the live circuit. A daft\, inept yet adorable radio DJ takes you on a hilarious broadcasting journey. This is a unique\, wonderfully brilliant show\, guaranteed to make you cry with laughter. \nIvan captures the fun and excitement you'd expect from being in hospital\, with games\, giveaways\, patients requests and his special blend of music and chat. An absolute must-see. \n“For simple laugh-'til you ache humour\, Ivan Brackenbury is the hit of the Fringe” - Evening Standard \n“Laughs per minute the funniest show at the Fringe” - Time Out \n“The whole room was in hysterics from the word go\, endorphin-filled laughter indeed proving the best medicine. Brackenbury is absolutely utterly hilarious - I can’t recommend this enough. Go see it” - The Age \n  \n \nPete Otway\nSince starting to perform in 2010\, Pete Otway has quickly gained momentum\, establishing himself as an extremely strong new act. As comfortable and confident as an MC as he is an act\, he is booked regularly to do both\, and was a recent finalist in the 2012 BBC New Comedy Awards. \nWith an affable and conversational style\, mixed with an energetic stage manner and original writing\, Pete is quickly making a name for himself on the UK circuit\, and is certainly one to watch. \n “Devastatingly funny” - Chortle \n“Amiable\, cheeky classic stand-up” - Liverpool Echo \n“An amazing comedy talent\, and we are making sure we are making sure we follow his every move in his ever rising career” - Crispy Comedy Club \n  \nThis show will also feature a newer act in the middle. \n  \n\nBuy tickets:
