Hilarity Bites Comedy Club feat. David Longley, Alex Hylton, Kevin Precious, and host Pete Otway
Show details:
David Longley
One of the few comics able to play to any audience without compromising on his material, David Longley can delight a hen party and the comedy connoisseur on the same night. Intelligent, silly, thought-provoking and filthy, Longley has found himself headlining comedy clubs all over the country and is also in demand as an MC.
Longley’s towering stage presence and intensity, combined with his cutting wit have made him one of the most popular and controversial circuit comics in the UK, whether it’s doling out thought-provoking insights or revelling in toilet humour, Longley is a gifted wordsmith with great audience interaction skills.
As well as being a great addition to any club line up, David had also written and performed four full length festival solo shows at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe, each one greeted with critical acclaim. Additionally, David has featured as a writer on 8 Out of 10 Cats, amongst a variety of genres, and is currently working on sitcom, drama and documentary script
“Acid tongued and as sharp as a barrel full of tacks... As intense and intelligent performer as you’re likely to see” - The List
“Highly original and bloody funny” - Three Weeks
“David seems to be actually driven by the material and, say it quietly, the art... challenges both himself and the audience. AND HE IS FUNNY” - Baby Cow
Alex Hylton
'Best Show' Leicester Comedy Festival 2020 - Winner
Alex Hylton is one of the fastest rising comics in the Midlands and a presenter and writer for BlueMoonRisingTv. A youthful, energetic new act with relatable anecdotes of adolescence, mixing in one-liners and a smudge of surrealism to create a likable and unique style, Alex is tipped by many to go all the way.
“Hylton takes charge of a room, fluent and funny storytelling is second nature to this comic” - Wee Review
“Well crafted, vivid storytelling performed with commitment” - Three Weeks
“A hilarious abundance of energy” - The Recs
Kevin Precious
Kevin Precious has had something of a long and varied career in the business of show, making his first tentative foray into the world of entertainment as a teenage bass playing dirt bag in the working men's clubs in his native city of Hull.
Venturing South, he continued his musical adventures, and in the 1990s, Kevin set up a 'Pop Quiz' in a trendy boozer in Camden, which rapidly became laden with celebrities and culminated in him being asked to organise and compere the NME's first national pop quiz. It was these events that would later inspire a move into comedy. Sometime thereafter he took the plunge.
Combining comedy with time as a mature student, and later a full-time teacher, Kevin finally took the plunge to turn full-time in 2005, and has since toured throughout the UK and performed dates throughout Europe. Meanwhile, in 2008, he compered the ‘Loaded Lafta’ awards, presenting awards to Jimmy Carr, Adam Buxton, Paul Kaye, and Harry Enfield, to name but a few.
“If he were any more laid back he'd fall over - we fell over laughing” - The Evening Standard
“Instantly recognisable stage presence and boundless wit” - Leicester Mercury
“Kevin's stage charisma and poise set him head and shoulders above the rest” - The Times
Pete Otway
Since starting to perform in 2010, Pete Otway has quickly gained momentum, establishing himself as an extremely strong new act. As comfortable and confident as an MC as he is an act, he is booked regularly to do both, and was a recent finalist in the 2012 BBC New Comedy Awards.
With an affable and conversational style, mixed with an energetic stage manner and original writing, Pete is quickly making a name for himself on the UK circuit, and is certainly one to watch.
“Devastatingly funny” - Chortle
“Amiable, cheeky classic stand-up” - Liverpool Echo
“An amazing comedy talent, and we are making sure we are making sure we follow his every move in his ever rising career” - Crispy Comedy Club
