Hilarity Bitesize New Act & New Material Night, with Louise Young, host Andy Fury & support
Replacing Lauren Pattison, who will now appear in April:
Hailing from Newcastle, Geordie comic Louise Young has rapidly built a reputation as a presence on the comedy circuit.
Her ability has seen her receive a nomination for the 2020 Leicester Mercury Comedian of the Year, to go alongside a Gillard Award nomination for Best Local Radio Newcomer 2020 for her weekly comedy radio show on BBC Radio Newcastle.
Louise has also placed highly in many national comedy competitions, including finishing runner-up in the 2019 Comedy Bloomers LGBTQ+ competition, and reaching the final of the 2018 Beat The Frog World Series, and the Funny Women competition in the same year.
Louise has also worked with Channel 4 online, and has written and acted in two sketches over the past year, one of which has reached 3.4 million views.
“wonderful, lovely, authentic” - Helen Lederer
“Louise Young is dynamite! Intelligent and street smart, she wins the entire room over with wonderfully written jokes, a spellbinding stage presence and the timing of a 20-year pro” - Punch Drunk Comedy
Despite starting comedy out of “sheer boredom” just a few years ago, Andy Fury has impressed a lot of people in a short space of time with a wonderful mix of self-deprecating dark jokes and off the wall surrealism.
With a laidback stage presence that sometimes borders horizontal, he’s as hard-working as he is funny and winning the Hilarity Bites New Act Of The Year 2010 title has put Andy on the path to working at many of the best clubs in the country, wowing audiences the length and breadth of the UK.
“An absolute genius of a comedian” - BBC
“Brilliant... The next Pub Landlord of comedy” - Hexham Courant
“A very funny man with a big future ahead of him” - Corby Radio
This show will also feature support from several new acts, and established acts performing new material.
