Hilarity Bitesize New Act & New Material Night, with James Meehan, host Andy Fury & support
Show details:

James Meehan
Edinburgh Comedy Award Winner 2014 (Panel Prize for Funz & Gamez)
Edinburgh Comedy Award Nominee 2014 (Best Newcomer for Gein's Family Giftshop)
Offbeat, aloof, yet delightfully likeable, James Meehan is a current rising star of the British comedy scene. Unique and intelligent material sets him apart as a stand-up, with his writing chops proven once more as one fourth of the multi-award winning sketch group Gein’s Family Giftshop.
A move to Manchester saw James focus on comedy, embarking on a degree in contemporary theatre at Salford University, and it was here he met his fellow Gein’s Family Giftshop members. A regular on the Manchester comedy circuit since 2009, James threw himself into the City’s thriving stand up scene and just three years later his talent was recognized a runner up in Preston Comedian of the Year.
In 2013 James joined Phil Ellis as a cast member and writer on his critically acclaimed Edinburgh show “Unplanned Orphan”. In 2014, James was part of the cast of Phil Ellis’ Funz and Gamez, which won the Fosters Edinburgh Comedy Award Panel Prize, and in the same year Gein’s Family Giftshop were nominees for the Best Newcomer Award at The Fosters Edinburgh Comedy Awards. They are also winners of London Sketchfest’s Best New Sketch Act & The Audience Choice Award 2014.
“Refreshingly nonchalant” - Time Out
“Wonderfully deadpan” - Fest

Andy Fury
Despite starting comedy out of “sheer boredom” just a few years ago, Andy Fury has impressed a lot of people in a short space of time with a wonderful mix of self-deprecating dark jokes and off the wall surrealism.
With a laidback stage presence that sometimes borders horizontal, he’s as hard-working as he is funny and winning the Hilarity Bites New Act Of The Year 2010 title has put Andy on the path to working at many of the best clubs in the country, wowing audiences the length and breadth of the UK.
“An absolute genius of a comedian” - BBC
“Brilliant... The next Pub Landlord of comedy” - Hexham Courant
“A very funny man with a big future ahead of him” - Corby Radio
This show will also feature support from several new acts, and established acts performing new material.
