Hilarity Bites Comedy Club feat. Christian Reilly, Harriet Dyer, and host Dave Twentyman

Show details:

Christian Reilly

Christian Reilly

Christian Reilly is both a Perrier and Chortle award-winning musical comedian with “sex, politics and rock 'n' roll” (The Scotsman) in the key of grrr.

As a former integral part of the Perrier award-winning show Otis Lee Crenshaw and the Black Liars, with comic/songster Rich Hall, Christian's career has taken him around the world three times. On his way, he received accolades at international festivals and numerous network TV credits in the USA, Australia, New Zealand and Britain.

Now a solo stand-up performer, and headlining all the major comedy venues in his own right, Christian uses his dynamic guitar and vocal skills to target histrionic rock bands, musical theatre and morose indie musicians. He wrote and performed for 'That Was Then This Is Now' (BBC Radio 2) as musical counterpart to Richard Herring and Emma Kennedy, as well as giving his improvisation skills an outing on Radio 2's 'Jammin'.

“Blisteringly funny songs” - The Stage

“If you’re a fan of Bill Bailey or Rich Hall, you’re a Christian Reilly fan already” - The Guardian

“The funniest songs I’ve heard in a long time” - The Scotsman

Harriet Dyer

Harriet Dyer

Harriet Dyer (BBC3, BBC Live at The Fringe, BBC Radio 4, BBC Knock Knock, BBC Ouch, Absolute Radio, The Russell Howard Hour) is an award winning comedian, writer and mental health advocate.

Harriet has been a full time comic since 2013. She’s had numerous critically acclaimed shows, works for the majority of big clubs and festivals, regularly gigs overseas, and prides herself in being totally original! - An experience to behold, if you will.

Harriet has bipolar disorder and does a lot of comedy work around mental health. Her debut, solo, hour-long show Barking At Aeroplanes at Edinburgh Fringe about her struggles and adventures with mental health received critical acclaim, resulting in a UK tour.

Harriet was touched by the reaction the show received, with audience members expressing how much of an important show it was and how refreshing it was to hear someone talk so openly about mental health. This led to Harriet creating the award winning, monthly mental health comedy night Barking Tales which is beloved by its many regular attendees.

Most recently Harriet's written a book about her life to critical acclaim, and she's been one of the main writers on both seasons on Jon Richardson's Channel Hopping.

“a bundle of whimsical hilarity... a breath of fresh air... will have you in stitches” - Broadway Baby

“Harriet Dyer was one of the stand out superstars for me at this year's Edinburgh Fringe. She’s insightful, unique, peerless, extraordinary and... well, maybe a little unhinged” - BBC Radio 4 Extra

“She's got funny bones!” - Kevin Bridges

“Instinctively funny... seems certain to become a comic force to be reckoned with” - Chortle

Replacing Tom Houghton:

Dave Twentyman

Dave Twentyman

Affable, quick-witted banter merchant, Dave Twentyman survived a childhood in St Helens by evolving rapid, startlingly-bright patter and a smile that he somehow stole from Barry Manilow. This is a man who could teach Teflon a trick-or-two but who remains vastly more fun than your average frying-pan. What higher praise can there be?

No matter what your mood, you really can't help but warm to Dave. He puts a big smile on everyone's face. His chatty, cheeky style endears him to the toughest of crowds. Dave talks a lot about the subjects closer to home, such as family life & friends. Its lighthearted, positive fun, you can't help relating to.

A regular performer at many of the best weekend clubs in the country, Dave has also performed at a number of music festivals over the years such as Leeds, V Festival, Download, etc

“Thoroughly impressed, best I've seen in ages. Great warmth and style” - Dave Spikey

“F**king Brilliant” - John Bishop

“Really like his stuff” - Jason Manford

This show will also feature a newer act in the middle.

Note: Line-ups are subject to change in extreme, and unavoidable, circumstances.
