Hilarity Bites Comedy Club feat. Paul ‘Silky’ White, Fran Garrity, and host Sammy Dobson
Show details:
Paul 'Silky' White
Silky has been a full time comedian since 1997. He did his first gig in 1994, and his fourth gig (the final of the 1995 BBC New Comedy Awards alongside Lee Mack, Daniel Kitson and Julian Barratt) was shown on BBC1’s Stand-Up Show. Other awards he has failed to win include the Leicester Mercury Comedian of the Year (prize-winning runner-up 2000), the Liverpool Echo Arts and Entertainment Award (the only person to be nominated twice: always the sodding bridesmaid).
Silky has performed internationally, including gigs in China, the Philippines, the Gulf, Singapore, the US, the Melbourne Comedy Festival, and all over Europe, including at the Glastonbury Festival, where no-one lobbed bottles of wee, much to his relief. He performed at the 2004 God’s Kitchen Global Gathering, the 2005 Big Bang at Santa Pod, and in the houseband for the Kilkenny Festival. Silky is also a regular at the Edinburgh Fringe, where he plays to full houses every year at The Stand Comedy Club.

Fran Garrity
One of Teesside’s finest comedic exports of recent years, Fran Garrity kicked off his comedy career in 2015 after becoming a finalist in the City Comedian of the Year & FAF Breakthrough Act competitions.
Often heard on the airwaves of both national and regional radio, Fran has featured on such shows as BBC Radio 4’s New Comedy Awards and BBC Radio Newcastle’s features Jesting About and Grin up North, whilst also presenting a weekend show on Zetland FM.
In 2017, Fran was chosen for a support slot with Jason Manford on his Muddle Class Tour, and later that year he debuted his solo show Secret Agent Fran and became a finalist in the Harrogate Comedian of the Year.
He had a sell-out run for Best In Class at the 2019 Edinburgh Fringe Festival, and has had three sell-out solo shows with the shows Secret Agent Fran, Faith Hope & Garrity, and new show Fifty/50

Sammy Dobson
Sammy Dobson started her career at 14 in Byker Grove, and went on to appear in many BBC and ITV dramas and films including ‘I, Daniel Blake’. Her most recent TV credits include hit comedies such as 'Boy Meets Girl', and appearances in the first two series of Dave's award-winning 'Meet The Richardsons'.
Sammy decided to try stand up comedy for a charity event a few years ago and hasn’t stopped since! Sammy now appears at a number of the country’s top venues, and has performed solo shows at the Edinburgh Fringe whilst also appearing in alternative pantomimes and sketch shows in her native Newcastle-Upon-Tyne.
“Shockingly funny... observational comedy Michael McIntyre couldn't possibly approach” - NARC Magazine
