Hilarity Bites Comedy Club feat. Dave Johns, Danny Posthill, and host Ray Bradshaw
Show details:

Dave Johns
The star of Palme d'Or award winning film 'I, Daniel Blake', Dave Johns has been a stand up comic since 1989 and is a regular headlining act playing all the major comedy clubs in the UK and comedy festivals world wide. Dave has gained a reputation as an inventive, exciting and extremely funny comedian, winning applause from his audiences, respect from his fellow comics, and rave reviews from the critics.
In 2013, Dave co-wrote a new stage adaptation of The Shawshank Redemption which hit the West End and the Edinburgh Festival Fringe. He has had two very successful runs at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival in highly acclaimed shows 'Dave Johns On The Edge' in 1998 and 'I'm in The Attic Mother' in 1999 at the Pleasance Theatre for which he won the Spirit of the Fringe Award.
He has also appeared regularly at the Kilkenny Comedy Festival, in Ireland, Just For Laughs Comedy Festival in Montreal, the Adelaide Fringe and Melbourne Comedy Festival. Dave has also worked on stage in the Middle East, Hong Kong, Bangkok, Johannesburg, Sydney, New York, Amsterdam and the Arctic, and has been a regular guest on comedy panel shows such as Never Mind The Buzzcocks and 8 Out Of 10 Cats.
“He shifts from the sublime, to genius, to uproar in the blink of an eye - An extremely entertaining hour” - The Guardian
“Dave Johns has a uncontrived manner and sense of fun on stage that most comics can only dream about” - The Scotsman
“Look closely you will see the man generate sparks of magic” - The List
Replacing Danny Posthill:

Simon Donald
Simon Donald co-founded the publishing sensation of the 1980’s, Viz Comic, writing and drawing on its pages for 24 years, before leaving in 2003 to become a TV presenter, pundit and media whore. He moved into stand-up comedy in 2008, his one-man shows featuring annually at the Edinburgh Fringe.
Famed for the characters he created in Viz, Simon often performs as one or more of a bunch of new outrageous creations that have taken Donald's character creativity from page to stage - Barry Twyford market research dogsbody, whose bizarre survey raises more questions than it answers, Bingo from Benton drunken street philosopher and charmless aggressor, Jeremy Jitler novice comedian lacking a sense of humour, Rich Kestrel Cockney motormouth and 'supplier' to the stars, and Dominic Farquhar first year medic, the funniest guy on his whole landing. In fact, He's probably the funniest guy in the whole of Mandela Halls, actually.
“Superb, inventive comedy” - The Stage
“Hugely entertaining” - Chortle
“Subversive... very clever. Hilarious” - The List

Ray Bradshaw
Following his groundbreaking 2018 show, Deaf Comedy Fam, Ray Bradshaw’s latest stand-up show, Deaf Com 1, covers his recent fatherhood, teaching his young son sign language, and a disastrous trip to Bahrain!
International award-winning comic, Ray, spent 2021/22 touring the UK as John Bishop’s handpicked support act, having previously toured with Frankie Boyle in 2019. Ray was the first comedian to ever win a Scottish Culture Award and is a regular host of Scotland’s most popular radio show, Breaking The News.
Ray is a CODA (like in the Oscar winning film) and grew up with deaf parents. All of his shows are performed in both BSL and English, with Deaf Comedy Fam becoming the first ever live comedy experience for more than 800 deaf audience members.
Ray’s clever, charming, and very funny comedy has received critical acclaim from critics and fans alike.
