Hilarity Bitesize New Act & New Material Night, with David Eagle, Mike Keenan, host Lee Kyle & support

Show details:

David Eagle

In 2018 David began performing stand up comedy. He was awarded the New Act Of The Year prize at 2018’s Nottingham Comedy Festival. In 2019 he won Bath Comedy Festival’s New Comedian Of The Year and the Leicester Square Theatre New Comedian Of The Year.

In 2022 David performed stand up on BBC Radio 4’s topical comedy programme The Now Show. He frequently supports Boothby Graffoe on tour, and he also starred in Tony Law and Phil Nichol’s improvised 2019 Edinburgh Fringe show.

David is one third of three-time BBC Radio 2 folk Award winning band The Young’uns. You may have heard them performing on BBC Radio 2 and 3, or maybe seen them on BBC’s Springwatch. They’ve also done a couple of documentaries for BBC Radio 4. Or perhaps – and granted, this is unlikely, but maybe – you heard them in the Aardman Animations film Itch of the Golden Nit, in which they played the role of Vic Reeves’ pirate backing band. They perform at venues and festivals in the UK and all over the world, including Cambridge Folk Festival and Glastonbury, where they played on stage with Billy Bragg.

“a comic tour de force” - The Guardian

“David Eagle is a genuine stand up rookie phenomenon! Looking forward to hearing more” - Reginald D. Hunter

“Brilliant, nuts, heartily recommend” - Rufus Hound

Mike Keenan

Mike Keenan

Mike Keenan is a rising star on the UK circuit, performing regualrly for clubs and promoters across the UK in addition to writing for BBC radio. He has been described as "Brilliant" (Up The Creek), "A Joy to Watch" (Shoecake Comedy) and "Superb" (Backyard Comedy Club).

His Year 9 Maths Teacher said he "will never achieve anything of worth if he keeps joking around" and so he leant into it.

“Brilliant... Loads of great jokes” - Kiri Pritchard-McLean

“Hilarious... A brilliant comedian” - Alex Boardman

“Took the roof off. Explosively funny” - Bolton Comedy Club

Lee Kyle

Lee Kyle

In his never ending quest not to have a proper job, Lee Kyle spent time as part of an all male Spice Girls tribute act before spending a decade as a professional wrestler.

Managing the difficult trick of being both odd and relatable, he did a show at the Edinburgh Fringe in 2013 that he heard was well received but he doesn't read reviews because his psyche is too fragile to handle them so he isn't totally sure what they said.

Armed with props and a rapid gag rate he cuts a confident, if off-beat figure on stage. His jokes veer between the clever and the silly and deliver more than their fair share of belly laughs.

“Had everyone on their feet - Sublimely ridiculous” - The Northern Echo

“A brilliant performance.. Pure genius!” - NARC Magazine

“Quirky and original - the highlight of the night” - Giggle Beats

This show will also feature support from several new acts, and established acts performing new material.

Note: Line-ups are subject to change in extreme, and unavoidable, circumstances.

Show may contain strong language and adult themes.
