Hilarity Bites Comedy Club feat. Noel James, Tom Little, and host Amy Gledhill
Britain's Got Talent 2018 semi-finalist
Noel James has been making people laugh for over 25 years and much of stand-up's royalty has cited him as being a big influence: from Tim Vine and Milton Jones, to Frank Skinner and Dylan Moran.
Noel is surreal, bizarre, absurd, intelligent, and yet, somehow strangely attractive. He's an accessible act who generally goes down well anywhere; his best lines would grace any comedian's repertoire, whilst the worst would shame a cracker factory. Highly original and just plain ridiculous.
“Liberates the lunatic side to our personalities - brilliantly!” - Time Out
“Stands out like a droll giant in a comedy land of trite dwarfs” - The Independent
“Huge fan!” - The Sunday Times
Tom Little is a stand-up comedian, who won the Leicester Mercury Comedian of the Year award in 2015, was a finalist in the BBC Radio New Comedy Award in 2014 and performed as part of the Pleasance Comedy Reserve showcase at the 2015 Edinburgh Fringe ('Hilarious' *****, The Mirror).
“A brilliant, loudly awkward set…. His material is somehow simultaneously incredibly sharply written and bluntly delivered; his routines are very funny, completely inventive, sitting perilously on the fence between allowing an audience to think they know what’s coming, and pulling something unexpectedly bizarre out of the bag” - Giggle Beats
“Little’s showstopping set-piece … made an immediate impact and it was no surprise that the judges felt that that he was the front runner” - Bruce Dessau, Beyond The Joke
“Tom’s original style and inventive material stood out in what was a stellar night of strong performances” - Leicester Mercury
Caroline Aherne bursary winner 2018
Native Hullensian Amy Gledhill has collated the kind of awards portfolio that would shame a seasoned pro.
Brimming with natural warmth and charm, Gledhill takes the audience with her on a journey through hilarious stories and off-beat observations, leaving everybody feeling they've just made a new friend.
Not just a solid standup, Gledhill has also been turning her Midas touch to sketch as one half of The Delightful Sausage, who have just returned from the Edinburgh Fringe after an incredible debut year, hoovering up stars, acclaim and more importantly - gin.
“Silly, vivacious and very funny” - Richard Herring
“Deftly balances the daft with the intelligent” - The Skinny
“Commands the stage. Incredibly accomplished” - Funny Women
This show will also feature a newer act in the middle.
