SUMMARY:Hartlepool\, August 3rd 2023
DESCRIPTION:Hilarity Bitesize New Act & New Material Night\, with David Eagle\, Zoe\, host Andy Fury & support\nShow details:\n \nDavid Eagle\nIn 2018 David began performing stand up comedy. He was awarded the New Act Of The Year prize at 2018’s Nottingham Comedy Festival. In 2019 he won Bath Comedy Festival’s New Comedian Of The Year and the Leicester Square Theatre New Comedian Of The Year. \nIn 2022 David performed stand up on BBC Radio 4’s topical comedy programme The Now Show. He frequently supports Boothby Graffoe on tour\, and he also starred in Tony Law and Phil Nichol’s improvised 2019 Edinburgh Fringe show. \nDavid is one third of three-time BBC Radio 2 folk Award winning band The Young’uns. You may have heard them performing on BBC Radio 2 and 3\, or maybe seen them on BBC’s Springwatch. They’ve also done a couple of documentaries for BBC Radio 4. Or perhaps – and granted\, this is unlikely\, but maybe – you heard them in the Aardman Animations film Itch of the Golden Nit\, in which they played the role of Vic Reeves’ pirate backing band. They perform at venues and festivals in the UK and all over the world\, including Cambridge Folk Festival and Glastonbury\, where they played on stage with Billy Bragg. \n“a comic tour de force” - The Guardian \n“David Eagle is a genuine stand up rookie phenomenon! Looking forward to hearing more” - Reginald D. Hunter \n“Brilliant\, nuts\, heartily recommend” - Rufus Hound \n  \n \nZoe\nZoe is a dog obsessed eccentric outsider with limited social skills but with an interesting and fresh perspective on life. \nSimultaneously naive and intense\, Zoe pushes acceptable boundaries whilst ensuring everyone laughs to the point of being unattractive. \nOne of the most incredible live acts in the UK\, Zoe will leave a lasting memory with everyone who sees her. \n“She had the room spellbound – and in gales of laughter. Zoe’s a fully-formed character\, simultaneously naive and intense\, complete with nervous guttural chortle that has impressed BBC comedy” - Chortle \n“Zoe is a force of nature and has the audience in the palm of her hand\, occasionally squeezing them to the point of collapse. A stand out act\, tipped for stardom and like nothing you’ve seen before” - Felt Nowt \n“Some of our most legendary and unforgettable gigs have had Zoe headlining - always guaranteed to bring the house down with her absolute command of an audience. One of the funniest acts to come out of the North East in years! It definitely won’t be long before we’re seeing her on our screens!” - Mr Shindig's Comedy \n  \n \nAndy Fury\nDespite starting comedy out of “sheer boredom” just a few years ago\, Andy Fury has impressed a lot of people in a short space of time with a wonderful mix of self-deprecating dark jokes and off the wall surrealism. \nWith a laidback stage presence that sometimes borders horizontal\, he’s as hard-working as he is funny and winning the Hilarity Bites New Act Of The Year 2010 title has put Andy on the path to working at many of the best clubs in the country\, wowing audiences the length and breadth of the UK. \n“An absolute genius of a comedian” - BBC \n“Brilliant... The next Pub Landlord of comedy” - Hexham Courant \n“A very funny man with a big future ahead of him” - Corby Radio \n  \nThis show will also feature support from several new acts\, and established acts performing new material. \n  \nNote: Line-ups are subject to change in extreme\, and unavoidable\, circumstances.\nShow may contain strong language and adult themes.\n\nTimings\nDoors open: 7pm\nShow starts: 7:30pm \n\nBuy tickets:\nTickets for this show are £10 per person\, with doors opening at 7pm and the show starting at 7:30pm.
