SUMMARY:Malton\, June 11th 2021
DESCRIPTION:Hilarity Bites Comedy Club feat. Nick Doody & Karen Bayley\nShow details:\n \nNick Doody\nDave Gorman tour support\nNick Doody has been performing comedy since the 90s when\, as a student\, he got off to a pretty good start by supporting the legendary Bill Hicks\, at Bill's request. A little later\, Nick was a finalist in Channel 4's So You Think You're Funny? competition. \nSince then he has performed all over the world: Ireland\, France\, Spain\, Switzerland\, Germany\, The Netherlands\, Dubai\, United Arab Emirates\, Qatar\, Hong Kong\, Thailand\, Malaysia\, Estonia... You get the idea. He was the first British comedian to perform in Croatia. \nNick has appeared on various radio and TV shows\, and is also much in demand as a writer. He has penned jokes for Joan Rivers\, Lenny Henry\, Dame Edna Everage and an uncomfortable number of Mock The Week regulars. He was also the creator and head writer of Bigipedia\, a critically acclaimed Radio 4 show that broadcast in 2009 and 2011. \nIn 2006\, Nick performed his first solo Edinburgh Festival show\, Before He Kills Again. The show received rave reviews and sold out for the whole festival\, leading to a run at the Soho Theatre. Since then\, Nick has written and performed another six solo hours of stand-up\, including the most honest title ever to appear on a poster\, Look At This Massive Picture Of My Face. \n“All hail Nick Doody... true comedy gold: polished\, rich in material and a find among all the fools” - Metro \n“This is simply the best unadulterated\, gimmick-free hour of pure stand-up I’ve seen so far this Fringe” - Chortle \n“A no-nonsense stand up comic who is genuinely funny” - Three Weeks \n  \n \nKaren Bayley\nKaren began her comedy career back in 2000 and since then has gone from strength to strength. Her bold\, no nonsense attitude strikes a perfect pitch with men and women alike\, and she is equally at home compering or performing sets. \nKaren is also resident compere of her own clubs in Sutton Coldfield and Solihull\, with her claim to fame to date being that she was the first woman (in its history) to win the King Gong show at The Comedy Store. \nKaren has also worked in TV and radio\, including appearances on the BBC New Comedy Awards (BBC3)\,
The Last Word (ITV1)\,
Sex on the Job (Sky 1)\, and
100 Greatest Cartoons (Channel 4). \n“Laugh out loud jokes and superb audience control” - Chortle \n“Likeable headstrong persona- packing a considerable performing punch” - The List \n“She blew my socks off” - BBC \n  \n \nPete Otway\nSince starting to perform in 2010\, Pete Otway has quickly gained momentum\, establishing himself as an extremely strong new act. As comfortable and confident as an MC as he is an act\, he is booked regularly to do both\, and was a recent finalist in the 2012 BBC New Comedy Awards. \nWith an affable and conversational style\, mixed with an energetic stage manner and original writing\, Pete is quickly making a name for himself on the UK circuit\, and is certainly one to watch. \n “Devastatingly funny” - Chortle \n“Amiable\, cheeky classic stand-up” - Liverpool Echo \n“An amazing comedy talent\, and we are making sure we are making sure we follow his every move in his ever rising career” - Crispy Comedy Club \n  \n\nRules / Restrictions \nWe want everybody to be safe and enjoy this show as much as possible\, so please follow the below instructions: \n\nTickets are limited to only 75 people\, and are sold in group sizes of 2-6.
