Hilarity Bites Comedy Club feat. Maff Brown, Micky Bartlett, and host Alex Boardman
Show details:

Maff Brown
Maff Brown has been recommended as one of the top ten acts to see at the Edinburgh festival by GQ magazine. Twice.
He plays at all the top clubs in the UK as a headliner, including at London's world famous Comedy Store. He is also in demand as a writer on top UK shows such as Mock the Week and 8 Out Of Ten Cats. He also made loads of 'Top Jokes at the Fringe' lists at the 2014 Edinburgh Festival.
You would have seen him on Comedy Central (UK) and in Jack Dee’s Lead Balloon, or supporting some of the comedy heavyweights on tour such as Jack Dee and Greg Davies.
Maff has also been a co presenter on Absolute Radio's Rock and Roll Football with Ian Wright and you would have also heard him on 5Live, Talk Sport and BBC Radio 6.
“Want an all out laugh-fest with gags-a-plenty? Maff is your man. A few months back I saw him tear the roof off, generating more joy, more laughter than any arena-selling comedian” - GQ
“Howl out loud funny and refreshingly honest” - Metro
“Maff is one of those comics that doesn’t need to try. Jokes fall out of him like gold coins coming out of a pirate’s chest” - Frank Skinner

Micky Bartlett
Northern Ireland's Micky Bartlett is known for his solo stand-up shows (including a three-night sell out run at the legendary Ulster Hall in Belfast) as well as headlining the biggest clubs across the UK and Ireland. He is also a successful comic actor and writer, and starred in the recent viral Irish Harp Lager ads as well as creating and starring in a series of clips for BBC online’s “Tight Shorts” digital strand.
A regular guest on the ‘General Banter’ podcast, Micky was the long term resident host at Belfast’s legendary Empire comedy rooms and also tours with some of the biggest names in live stand-up, including Tommy Tiernan and Patrick Kielty, initially supporting the latter’s 2012 “Home” tour which included opening to a sell out crowd at Belfast’s Odyssey Arena. This set went so well it led to him performing as warm up for “Dave’s One Night Stand”, which in turn led to Micky featuring on the broadcast version of the show.
Micky has also regularly guested on BBC’s “Bad Language”, on both series of the BBC NI Panel show “Monumental” (alongside Adam Hills, Andrew Maxwell, Jarred Christmas, and Jimeoin), BBC Radio 4’s “State of the Nations“, BBC Radio Ulster’s “The Blame Game” and BBC’s “Sketchy”. Micky also hosted the studio warm-ups for a “Miranda” Christmas special and for entire seasons of both “Top Gear” and “TFI Friday”, as well as for Netflix game show “Flinch”. In 2019 he stormed his solo debut off-Broadway show in New York.
“Bartlett is a stand-up natural with a great command of the audience and engaging everyman approach, full of verve... joyously spirited... A masterful way of delivering with punch and style... Impressive!” - Chortle
“Micky has everything it takes to be a huge star… in years to come, people will be talking about the time they first saw Micky Bartlett… One of the most consistently funny people I’ve ever worked with” - Adam Hills
“Brilliant — Northern Ireland’s answer to Kevin Bridges” - Culture NI

Alex Boardman
A lifelong comedy fan, Alex Boardman stormed onto the scene and quickly became one of the most popular choices on the circuit during the late 90’s. A full time comic since 1998, his skills as a writer have also been in constant demand for Britain’s most cutting edge prime time TV and Radio comedy shows. If you’ve found yourself falling off your chair in a fit of giggles watching TV’s latest successful comedy offering, the chances are, Alex is responsible.
Alex is now one of the most sought after acts in the country due to his ability to interact with any audience and to seemingly conjure something out of nothing. His free flowing style and natural charm breeze through in performances. His unique brand of “flattery and abuse” is done with a lack of malice and a big sense of fun.
Alex was one of a small band of writers who worked on the second series of John Bishop’s Britain on BBC 1 and he made a significant contribution to it being the highest rated stand up show of 2011 bringing in six million viewers a week. He has also written for performers as diverse as James Corden, Lily Savage and Liza Tarbuck, whilst he had a three year special hosting the Galaxy FM breakfast show in the late 2000s.
“His tall tales can lead anywhere on any given night” - The Times
“A rare mixture of wit and charm” - The Guardian
“Probably the quickest I’ve ever seen, certainly the funniest” - The Big Issue
This show will also feature a newer act in the middle.
