Hilarity Bites Comedy Club feat. Duncan Oakley, Keith Carter, and host Freddy Quinne

Show details:

Duncan Oakley

Duncan Oakley

Award-winning comedy songwriter Duncan Oakley has been performing on the UK club and festival circuit since 1999. In that time Duncan has appeared on BBC3, Channel 4 and BBC Radio 4 as well as having a lead role as Eddie in Beat 24's feature film Frontman (a film that won awards but sadly never achieved major release despite Oakley being brilliant in it).

Proudly childlike, musical comedian Duncan Oakley can be playful and daft but is always infectiously funny.

Expect big laughs from your inner oaf.

“Leaping between stupidity and pure brilliance” - Yorkshire Evening Post

“Oakley's routine deftly mixes the tunes with the stand-up” - City Life

“Brilliant. A true, funny entertainer” - BAFTA winner Dave Johns

Keith Carter

Keith Carter

Keith Carter is known as one of the best character comedians on the circuit, so much so that many have not known he was in character. He doesn’t rely on wigs and silly costumes, Carter relies on sincerity. His most famous creation Nige has gained cult status amongst comedy fans and comedians alike and is seen as a comedy icon in his native Liverpool.

His unique ability to improvise and interact with an audience whilst delivering a perfectly honed set of belly-laugh gags and hilariously surreal stories has taken him across the globe, as well as working with, amongst others, Sean Lock, Reginald D. Hunter, Ricky Gervais, and Russell Brand.

Carter can count Johnny Vegas and Jon Richardson as fans of his work. His contemporaries like him so much that Steve Coogan’s company, Baby Cow, paid for his one man show Edinburgh run in 2012 and Craig Cash’s company, Jelly Legs, paid to make a half hour teaser pilot to be shown at the BBC of one of Carter’s characters.

“A character comic of rare skill” - The Guardian

“Carter is in danger of becoming huge” - Chortle

“Surely this man will have a sitcom in a few years time” - Metro

Freddy Quinne

Freddy Quinne

Co-host of the hugely popular 'Dead Men Talking' podcast, award-winning comedian Freddy Quinne is a regular at many of the biggest and best comedy clubs in the country where he performs his shamelessly opinionated, no-holds-barred stand up. He is known for his frank approach and often brutal punchlines, covering everything from topical news to universal truths.

His Amazon Prime comedy special Quite The Catch has had over half a million views. He also has hours of online footage from shows across the world, with clips racking up millions of streams on Facebook and YouTube.

In 2014 Freddy was MC for the late show for the Big Value Show at the Edinburgh Fringe, one of the most prestigious showcases at the festival, and he returned to the Fringe in 2015, where he hosted the AAA Comedy Showcase at the Pleasance Courtyard.

Freddy's willingness to break away from his set and involve the crowd leads for an engaging and memorable set backed up with frantic energy and raw emotion.

“Uncompromising... a natural comic with near perfect timing” - The Skinny

“The hilarious Freddy Quinne managed to quieten the two worst hecklers with one perfectly judged line” - eFestivals

“Uniquely Northern observational humour” - Lancashire Evening Post

This show will also feature a newer act in the middle.
