Hilarity Bites Comedy Club feat. Jason Cook, Jack Carroll & Host Andy Fury
Show details:

Jason Cook
Jason Cook is the brains behind hit BBC sitcom 'Hebburn', UKTV's 'Murder on the Blackpool Express', and several hit BBC Radio shows, including Radio 4’s "Jason Cook's School of Hard Knocks". He is also one of the best stand-up comedians working in the UK today.
Be ready for pretty much anything when Jason takes to the stage. Behind his cheerful Geordie exterior lurks a dark, sharp comedic mind capable of taking an unsuspecting audience to places they didn’t want to go. Dwarves, newspaper vendors, the toilets at raves, true-to-life stories that drag you in and won’t let go. Cook is close to the edge but always intriguing and blessed with the sort of charm that’ll have you laughing in spite of yourself.
As well as writing and staring in his own hit sitcom, Jason's been renowned as one of the best stand-up comedians on the circuit for years. In 2007, Jason took his first solo stand up show to the Edinburgh Fringe, selling out for the bulk of the run, and earning 5 star reviews. He then embarked on a sell out world tour and scooped the coveted "Best International Show" at the New Zealand International Comedy Festival, an award previously won by Eddie Izzard and Stephen K Amos.
“A wonderfully life-affirming, beautifully crafted, total and utter joy. My jaw aches from laughing” - Time Out
“Conclusively proves he can produce an hour of joyously uplifting and playfully honest hilarity simply from being a damn fine comedian” - Chortle
“Continues to carve a rich, deep, consistent groove of humour at the Fringe” - The Scotsman

Jack Carroll
Jack Carroll is a comedian, actor and writer. Aged 11, he starred in CBBC sketch show Ministry of Curious Stuff with Vic Reeves, going on to win a Pride of Britain award at 12, was runner-up on Britain’s got talent aged 14 and was nominated for a National Soap Award aged 15 for his appearance in Doctors. What he did when he was 13 remains a mystery.
Since then, Jack made stand-up appearances on Live at the Apollo and Frankie Boyle’s New World Order, has acted in 4 series of the Sky One Sitcom Trollied and starred in feature film Eaten By Lions. As well as acting and stand up, he is a graduate of the BBC Writersroom.
Jack recently wrote and starred in the BAFTA award-winning short form comedy pilot ‘Mobility’ for the BBC. In 2023 Jack took on the role of Bobby Barlow in the nation’s favourite soap ‘Coronation Street’.
His other attributes include Cerebral palsy, an amazing ability to write about himself in the third person, his brilliant intellect and his modesty.
“...A galloping comic tour de force” - Radio Times
“A revelation” - The Telegraph
“He’s saying what no one else can; it’s hilarious” - The Guardian

Andy Fury
Despite starting comedy out of “sheer boredom” just a few years ago, Andy Fury has impressed a lot of people in a short space of time with a wonderful mix of self-deprecating dark jokes and off the wall surrealism.
With a laidback stage presence that sometimes borders horizontal, he’s as hard-working as he is funny and winning the Hilarity Bites New Act Of The Year 2010 title has put Andy on the path to working at many of the best clubs in the country, wowing audiences the length and breadth of the UK.
“An absolute genius of a comedian” - BBC
“Brilliant... The next Pub Landlord of comedy” - Hexham Courant
“A very funny man with a big future ahead of him” - Corby Radio
This show will also feature a newer act in the middle.
