Hilarity Bites Comedy Club feat. Andy White, Thomas Green & host Freddy Quinne

Show details:

Andy White

Andy White

Andy White is an energetic, confident and silly Brummie who combines silly voices and a mad afro to devastating comic effect. Andy has numerous media appearences, including the BBC New Comedy Awards on BBC Choice, Brand Spanking New on BBC Radio 7, and his winning performance on the Weakest Link comedian's special! His appearance on the BBC quiz show featured in his five star (***** Three Weeks) Edinburgh show, It Started With A Quiz in 2007. This followed on from his well-received one man show at the 2005 Leicester Comedy Festival: Young, Gifted and Beige.

Andy escaped from a call centre to become a stand up comic who mixes silly voices and faces with observational humour, topical humour and his mixed race background. He can do material that's clever, cheeky, sick or just silly and his performance can shift from deadpan to loud and physical. Andy has played to a wide variety of audiences, adults and children, both at home and abroad, in comedy clubs, theatres, universities, radio and TV shows, and at corporate entertainment events. He regularly headlines up and down the UK and has worked with all the major chains and comedy promoters along the way. Overseas, he's performed in Monte Carlo, Berlin, Abu Dhabi, and Dubai amongst others.

“Had me exercising my pelvic floor muscles to avoid an accident” - BBC

“Undeniably entertaining” - Chortle

“Oozes talent” - What's On Magazine

Replacing George Rigden:

Thomas Green

Thomas Green

Thomas Green is an engaging story-teller, and is known for his face of elasticity and highly energetic stage presence.

A regular on the international festival circuit since 2012, his effervescent charisma and hilarious characterisations led to his nomination for Best Emerging Comedy at the 2013 Adelaide Fringe, and sold out shows in his Edinburgh debut in the same year.

Green has not only been lively on the festival circuit, but he's establishing himself on the UK circuit too following a stint hosting both breakfast and drive radio shows across 7 years on Fresh 92.7 in Adelaide.

“Green’s quick-witted exchanges and improvisation with audience members are truly impressive, clever and natural” - ★★★★ - The Advertiser

“Proof you don't need a gimmick to be great” - ★★★★ - The List

“Green used his contagious enthusiasm to have a sold-out crowd in stitches” - Rip It Up

Freddy Quinne

Freddy Quinne

The winner of the 2013 Hilarity Bites New Act of the Year competition, Freddy Quinne's "uniquely northern observational humour" (Lancashire Evening Post) has seen a meteoric rise into some of the biggest clubs in the country. Quinne couples "clever, well placed gags" (Pickled Egg) together with a vulnerable persona for a unique experience which combines to make "a real tour de force performance" (Alex Boardman).

In 2014 Freddy was MC for the late show for the Big Value Show at the Edinburgh Fringe, one of the most prestigious showcases at the festival, and he returned to the Fringe in 2015, where he hosted the AAA Comedy Showcase at the Pleasance Courtyard. He also MC'd a showcase for online magazine and comedy reviewers The Skinny, as part of the Liverpool Comedy Festival, and he currently acts as a resident MC for over half a dozen comedy nights across the country as well as regularly compering some of the biggest comedy venues in the UK, including Frog & Bucket, and Just the Tonic.

Freddy's willingness to break away from his set and involve the crowd leads for an engaging and memorable set backed up with frantic energy and raw emotion.

“An impeccable set... a great storyteller with immense potential” - Worksop Guardian

“The hilarious Freddy Quinne managed to quieten the two worst hecklers with one perfectly judged line” - eFestivals

“Quinne delighted the crowd with clever, well placed gags” - Pickled Egg

This show will also feature a newer act in the middle.
