Hilarity Bites Comedy Club feat. Emmanuel Sonubi, Rob Mulholland & host Andy Fury
Show details:
Emmanuel Sonubi
London based Emmanuel Sonubi has only been on the comedy circuit for what fills like five minutes and he’s already garnering himself a reputation as “THE one to watch out for".
An ex-bouncer and failed contestant of ‘The Worlds Strongest Man’, Emmanuel was born and bred in the East End of London where he extracts most of his hilarious interactions with the vibrant cockneys and reprobates he has encountered. Now a father of two, he has a wealth of material of playing pranks with his kids as well as his awful parenting skills.
Since 2015, Emmanuel has rocketed through the ranks, regularly playing prestigious clubs in the UK such as The Comedy Store, as well as playing internationally and being hand-selected by Jason Manford to support him on his 2018 arena tour. `
“A new talent at the door of stand-up, his name's down and he's definitely coming in” - Russell Kane
“I've only seen this guy destroy rooms” - Seann Walsh
“Emmanuel is so incredibly funny, and I'm not just saying that because I'm scared of him” - Joel Dommett
Replacing Jake Lambert:
Rob Mulholland
One of the fastest rising comedians on the circuit, Rob Mulholland fell into comedy after finding a flyer looking for acts to appear at Harrogate Comedy Festival on the ground outside his front door. In the two years since, he has clocked up a huge amount of gigs all over the country ranging from tiny pubs to massive theatres (even performing to 2,000 bikers at an outdoor festival!), and can now be seen most weekends in some of the biggest comedy clubs in the country.
Just as at home as an act or compere, Rob mixes cheeky audience banter with his intricately woven, gag-packed stories; adding a touch of the absurd to his askance glance at everyday life. Rob is 17 feet tall, made of steel and can jump over a mini cooper from a standing start.
Rob won the Hilarity Bites New Act of the Year crown in 2015, and after finishing runner-up in the following year’s Great Yorkshire Fringe New Act of the Year competition has awarded himself the title of "Yorkshire’s Funniest Non-Musical Comedian". He was one half of the anarchic, late-night, yurt-based show #BlurredMinds at the 2015 Edinburgh festival and premiered his first solo show ‘Champion of Comedy’ at the Leicester Comedy Festival in 2016.
“Very, very tall and equally as talented” - Time Out
“Great delivery and a confident swagger... A riot” - Lancashire Evening Telegraph
“Perfect delivery... had the audience bursting into spontaneous applause” - York Press
Andy Fury
Despite starting comedy out of “sheer boredom” just a few years ago, Andy Fury has impressed a lot of people in a short space of time with a wonderful mix of self-deprecating dark jokes and off the wall surrealism.
With a laidback stage presence that sometimes borders horizontal, he’s as hard-working as he is funny and winning the Hilarity Bites New Act Of The Year 2010 title has put Andy on the path to working at many of the best clubs in the country, wowing audiences the length and breadth of the UK.
“An absolute genius of a comedian” - BBC
“Brilliant... The next Pub Landlord of comedy” - Hexham Courant
“A very funny man with a big future ahead of him” - Corby Radio
This show will also feature a newer act in the middle.
