Hilarity Bites Comedy Club feat. Rob Rouse, Matthew McAloone, and host Catherine Young

Show details:

Rob Rouse

Rob Rouse

Rob Rouse is a man who doesn't know the meaning of the word calm. Full of beans, Rob can't slow down, and why would he when he makes so many people laugh. Rob first made the leap into stand up comedy in the late 1990s, touring the university circuits. In 1998 he won the prestigious 'So You Think You're Funny' competition at the Edinburgh Festival.

As seen on Dave's One Night Stand, Celebrity Juice, 8 out of 10 Cats, The Friday Night Project, and much more, Rob is one of comedy’s most lively, loveable and dynamic performers.

Performing a rare club show, whilst in between tours, expect stories of his life as a father, his encounters with road-kill and his life as the beleaguered owner of the most spectacularly randy dog you’re ever likely to hear about...

“He’s a man with genuinely funny bones” - Sunday Times

“Rob Rouse is a born clown, a latter-day Stan Laurel” - Time Out

“Every single one of these everyday observations and shared recognitions is blown out of the mainstream by his electric-shock treatment of the material... You want to hug his brain for coming up with this stuff, even as you want to wash his mouth out with soap for saying it” - The Herald

Matthew McAloone

Matthew McAloone

From being one of the BBC Comedy Award contenders for 2015, it’s been nothing but up for Northern Irish storyteller Matthew McAloone, whose confident stage presence and sharp writing make him a must see act.

A sitcom come to life, and as much at home in a sold out Shepherds Bush Empire as he is in a dark, tight comedy club, come prepared to be part of the show no matter the size. In addition to being a hit at clubs around the country, Matthew continues to develop the excellently received family show “Who wants to be a grown up” across the UK’s many established kids comedy venues.

Based in London, but with a love of travelling, you never have to wait too long to see Matthew again at any of the top clubs.

“Matthew is beautiful, with a beautiful act, he gets lots of beautiful laughs. He is a beautiful professional and I highly recommend this beautiful comedian” - Weird Uncle Comedy, Netherlands

“Matthew absolutely nailed it. Would have him back anytime!” - Parker's Comedy Club, Johannesburg

“Who? Oh yeah he is alright” - Backyard Comedy Club

Catherine Young

Catherine Young

Hilarity Bites New Act of the Year 2019

Winner of the Hilarity Bites New Act of the Year 2019, Catherine is quickly making a name for herself as one of the most exciting new acts to come out of the North-East in recent years.

Catherine occasionally absconds from Middlesbrough and the general misery of life, by running round the UK comedy circuit looking for anyone who will listen to her.

From North East and Irish decent, Catherine loves drinking, dancing and telling lies. Her comedy is light-hearted, full of mischievous stories and a warm and friendly humour that provides a short break from the stresses that life deals to us all.

This show will also feature a newer act in the middle.

Note: Line-ups are subject to change in extreme, and unavoidable, circumstances.

Show may contain strong language and adult themes.
